The little ice candy

Quick feet
That knew no steps
learned to walk,
sometimes
down on the knees,
sometimes stumbling
in a miss.

Amidst the toy cars
I tried to drive
my fantasy's
on the slippery
wet floor.

Loved the taste
of chocolate
that would
taste my
pink unripe lips.

Hated the smell
of the milk
that I would gulp
down my throat
in a frenzy hurry.

Played with marbles
and what not.
Dirtied myself
in mud all day,
no worries to wash
and all I knew was
to throw up my hands
in air,
to fly in the sky
and kiss the earth
back again.

And now,
my eyes are sore
and numb in tears,
Can I get
my little ice candy back?
